Have you every watched a National Geograhic feature that focuses on bears? The ones where the filmmaker is able to capture them in all their moods...I love seeing the bears who, despite their size, seem so playful and carefree. That is the look of Hannah. Like her "real" breathren, you can see that she's having a good laugh and is going to tumble on to her back side at any moment for the sheer fun of it!
Hannah is a sculpted bear using a very time-consuming technique. There was no pattern, no scissors, no sewing! She was created using a combination of wools including llama (with guards hairs to add texture and interest), New Zealand Romney and fine Merino and a very fine, barbed needle. The process to create Hannah took several days...and ensures she is a one-of-a-kind. As you can see from her portraits, she has shaded inner ears, an open mouth and tonque, paw pads and fingers and toes. Her arms and legs have been sculpted in a position that invites you in for a good, old-fashioned bear hug. Her deep-set eyes are hand-blown glass, imported from Germany.
