Since 1898, my hometown has hosted a festival in May that celebrates one of the world's largest and most varied collection of Lilacs. This beautiful teddy bear celebrates Lilacs as well! My version is fashioned from a wonderfully densed, curly Schulte kid mohair that is an absolutely gorgeous shade of purple with black tips.. Lilacs muzzle has been meticulously hand-plucked, trimmed and needle sculpted. Her hand-blown glass eyes twinkle out over her perfect hand-embroidered nose and mouth...hand-dyed pima cotton in shades of purple, of course! Her delicate little ears have been set low on her head and, combined with needled-sculpting, give her a wonderful, charming expression. Like all the teddy bears of The Bear Menagerie, Lilacs has a large belly... She is stuffed with a combination of polyester polyfil and polished steel shot. Lilacs has really huge ultrasuede feet (even bigger then her belly!) that have been needle-sculpted with toes (her paw pads have fingers). Around her neck is a floral and sheer French wired ribbon. Like all the teddies of The Bear Menagerie, Lilacs has a sewn-inch tush tag and will travel with a signed name card assuring you that you are the proud owner of an original design teddy by Debbi Henretty!
