Polaris is no ordinary bear. He is a sculpted bear using a very time-consuming technique. There was no pattern, no scissors, no sewing! He was created using a combination of wools including New Zealand Romney and fine Merino and a very fine, barbed needle. The process to create Polaris took approximately 40 hours...and ensures he is a one-of-a-kind. As you can see from his portraits, he has fine shading on his face and ears, he has an open mouth and tonque, paw pads and fingers and toes. His arms and legs have been sculpted in a position that captures his playfulness and your imagination. His deep-set eyes are hand-blown glass, imported from Germany.
